What is Atomic Learning?
A daily listening app for iPhone, iPad and Android. Each day you hear one sentence in the language you're learning, type what you hear, and see your accuracy word by word. It takes under a minute.
Which languages can I learn?
English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Japanese and Korean. Switch any time; each has its own daily challenges and streak.
Is Atomic Learning free?
Yes. The app is free to download, and every language's daily challenges are free. Pro is optional: unlimited Hard challenges, replay of every past day, unlimited translations, retries and review replays. One Pro unlocks every language.
How much does Pro cost?
Pro is available as a monthly or yearly subscription, or a one-time Lifetime purchase. Prices depend on your country and are shown in the app before you buy.
How does dictation help me learn?
It shows exactly which words your ear skips. To write a sentence down you have to hear every word, recognize it and spell it, so listening, vocabulary and spelling improve together.
Do I have to type accents?
No. "cafe" counts for "café", and the correct spelling is shown underlined. German umlauts can be typed as ae, oe, ue; ß as ss.
How do I answer in Japanese or Korean?
Japanese: type in kana; kanji is never required. Korean: type in Hangul; spacing is ignored because it can't be heard.
Who reads the sentences?
Natural-sounding text-to-speech voices, with several different voices and playback conditions. They are not recordings of native speakers.
What level is it for?
Normal sentences suit lower-intermediate learners and up; Hard ones are longer and faster. Beginners can use it by replaying the audio and reading the translation.
Does it teach speaking or pronunciation?
No. Atomic Learning trains listening only. Pair it with a speaking app or a tutor for that.
Do I need an account?
No. There's no sign-up; open the app and start.
Are there ads?
No.
Can I use it on a computer?
You can try it and practice recent sentences on this website. The daily habit, streaks and history live in the iPhone, iPad and Android app.
